Compare: Navan

Navan pricing, explained

What Navan publishes about its plans, how its free tier is paid for, and what to ask for in writing if your company has more than 300 employees. Every statement about Navan links to Navan's own pricing page or its SEC filing.

Navan's plans

The two plans, as Navan publishes them

Summarized in our own words from Navan's pricing page, checked Oct 21, 2026. Navan may have changed it since.

Navan Business

  • Navan Business is for companies with up to 300 employees, and its price is listed as free. Source
  • At 300 employees or fewer, Navan says there's no limit on how many trips can be booked with Navan Travel. Source
  • The plan lists policy and approval workflows without a stated limit, self-serve changes, 24/7 travel support agents, customizable reports and the Navan Rewards program. Source
  • Navan Expense is free for the first 5 monthly expensing users, then $15 per user per month. An expensing user is anyone who submits a transaction, by hand or through Navan Connect. Source

Navan Enterprise

  • Navan Enterprise is described as for large-scale organizations. No price is shown: the plan reads “Let’s talk” with a button to get a price quote. Source
  • It includes everything in Business, plus unlimited travelers and expensing users, a designated account executive, a dedicated customer success manager, custom implementation, corporate negotiated rates and “enterprise-grade travel support”. Source
  • Navan's FAQ says both plans have the same travel and expense features, and Enterprise adds support for implementing and scaling the platform. Source

How it's paid for

Where the free tier's money comes from

Each statement links to Navan's own page, checked Oct 21, 2026.

  • Asked why Business is free for companies of up to 300 employees, Navan's pricing FAQ answers that Navan is powered by commission fees from travel providers, so the company gets access to its travel inventory without paying for it. Source
  • Navan's 10-Q (quarter ended July 31, 2026) says it earns commissions from suppliers such as airlines, hotels, rental car companies and rail carriers, based on the dollar volume of bookings made on its platform. The filing doesn't break this down by plan. Source

Paying through supplier commissions and paying fees on an invoice are both common in business travel. Either way, ask who pays the travel company, and how much, in writing.

Above 300 employees

What Navan says about larger companies

For a company of 100 to 1,000 people, the 300-employee line decides which of Navan's two models applies.

Each statement links to Navan's own page, checked Oct 21, 2026.

  • Companies with more than 300 employees are asked to request a demo to learn more. Source
  • The 10-Q says contracted customers typically sign annual or multi-year contracts and pay a per-trip or per-transaction fee for Travel, and an annual subscription fee for Expense. Source
  • The same per-trip or per-transaction model covers what the filing calls on-demand travel management offerings: VIP, Meetings and Events, and Bleisure. Source
  • Neither the 10-Q nor the pricing page gives the amounts of these fees. Source
  • The pricing page, including its full feature list, names no change or cancellation fee, contract term or minimum spend. Source

If you're above the line and getting quotes anyway, alternatives to Navan for 300 to 1,000 employees sets out how four other providers and silentVIP charge.

For a buyer

Questions to ask Navan for a written quote

A quote you can compare needs every fee on one page. These are our suggestions; the same questions work for any travel management company, including us.

The fee itself

  • What is the per-trip or per-transaction fee for our headcount, and what counts as one trip: a round trip, each ticket, each hotel stay?
  • Is the fee the same for flights, hotels, rail and cars, and for trips booked through an agent instead of the app?
  • Is there a minimum annual commitment or a minimum number of trips?

Changes and support

  • Does a change, cancellation or rebooking count as a new transaction?
  • Which support tier is included, who answers after hours, and is there a response-time commitment in the contract?
  • Are VIP, meetings and events, or group travel priced separately?

Contract and set-up

  • How long is the contract, how does it renew, and what notice ends it?
  • Is implementation included, and what does it cover?
  • How many expensing users are we likely to have, and what will Expense cost at that number?

How the money flows

  • Which of our bookings earn Navan a commission from the supplier, and is that shown anywhere we can see?
  • Do corporate negotiated rates we already have carry over, and who keeps any supplier incentives?
  • What happens to unused ticket credits and refunds, and how are they reported to finance?

Total cost, not just the booking fee: add up booking or trip fees, change and cancellation fees, after-hours support, implementation, expense users and any minimum commitment over 12 months, and set them against the same trips. Fares and room rates should be compared separately, on the same itinerary.
